Susan is excited to Knight Real Estate team. After successful teaching and customer service/writing careers, she now combines her love of helping people with her skills in planning and communicating effectively. Her ability to build rapport and trust across diverse populations grew after living and working in Sweden for five years. An English and Communication major, Susan is a stickler for flawless wordsmithing and artful presentation, and creates marketing materials adapted for the uniqueness of each home.

Raised in a large family in Massachusetts, Susan found her way to Santa Barbara in 1996 and has lived in several local neighborhoods, including San Roque, downtown, and the Mesa, as well as in Ojai and on property adjacent to the Los Padres National Forest. A mother of three children, Susan also knows Santa Barbara from a parent’s perspective, and can adeptly advise clients facing decisions about school district boundaries and transfer policies, neighborhood safety, walkability, and other family-friendly considerations.

Inspired by the natural geography, historical architecture, and gorgeous, ever-in-bloom flora of Santa Barbara, Susan can often be found out running or hiking and taking in the salty, citrus-blossom scented air. She loves exploring town on urban walks and tinkering in her tiny herb garden – and looks forward to sharing with her clients all the sweet spots she has discovered nestled throughout our little slice of paradise.
